Udupi: 55-year-old Andrew Martis found dead in forest with hands, legs tied

Udupi, Jan 25: The body of a 55-year-old man was recovered from Edmeru Thakadabailu forest, in Moodubelle village under Shirva police station limits on Friday, January 25.

The person is identified as Andrew Martis. The body was found with hands and legs tied, which has made cops suspect that the person was murdered.

Martis’ sister had seen him in the morning travelling on a bike with two other people. He was last spotted around 9.30 am in Bellepette surroundings. Martis was an alcoholic.

Martis’ body was spotted by locals. The suspected murder created panic in the village. ASI Krishna Acharya visited the spot and investigated. ASP Kumarchandra visited the spot.

It is said that two suspects have been taken into custody. A case has been registered in Shirva police station.
