Tumakuru: Pro-Godse tweet - Advocate approaches court against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel

Daijiworld Media Network - Tumakuru (SP)

Tumakuru, May 18: A young advocate, Ramesh Nayak, has filed an application in the JMFC court here, seeking to register case against Dakshina Kannada member of parliament (MP), Nalin Kumar Kateel. He wants to sue the MP for certain tweet made by the latter.

In his Twitter account, Nalin had compared former Prime Minister, the late Rajiv Gandhi, to Nathuram Godse, and terrorist, Azmal Kasab. In a tweet, he had pointed out that Godse had murdered only one person, while Kasab had accounted for 72 lives. He had accused Rajiv Gandhi of causing deaths of 17,000 people. He had wondered who among them could be dubbed the most draconian murderer.

Ramesh Nayak has approached the court, duly providing copies of the said tweet made by Nalin, and reports of a visual media and an English print media, while seeking permission to file suit against Kateel. He has asked the court to direct Kyatsandra police station in the city to register first information report against the said MP and investigate the same.

The BJP has condemned the tweet by Nalin Kumar, as well as another pro-Godse tweet by union minister Anant Kumar Hegde. Both have been issued show-causes notices by BJP national president Amit Shah, and state president B S Yeddyurappa too termed them 'unforgivable'. Both Nalin and Hegde apologised and deleted the tweets, with the latter claiming that his Twitter account had been 'hacked'. Their tweets came the same day BJP's Bhopal candidate Pragya Singh Thakur termed Godse a 'patriot', which prompted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respond that he would never forgive her for the statement.

While I appreciate the lawyer's intentions, I am unsure on what basis will the FIR be filed.
He has not provoked anyone, just made a statement which was insulting to the Mahatma, which has hurt people. However, does it break any laws, I doubt.

Upon rejection on 23rd May - please learn some public speaking, learn to talk in Hindi and learn to complete small tasks - which will eventually help you in completing major tasks (pumpwell flyover).
If possible, get some education, at least it will help you open up your mind.
Best of all, be an obedient partymen, follow your leader's advice and start selling pakoras outside parliament!

    @ Rangaa...,

The point is less educated honorable MP conveniently omitted heinous massacre of more than 2000 innocents in 2002.....!!!!!, this prompt a big question mark about the definition of freedom of expression which you are talking about........,

Can we have one bye 2 chai + pakoda..., and begin one chai pe charcha......!!!!!!!

Since 2014 ..., if we go by the events & statements by political leaders and leaders of self styled nationalist organisations make me feel that slowly & steadily Hindustan is moving towards intolerant state....,

My big objection is to stop..., to mix other religion practices in Hinduism...., (example : Through Ghar wapsi amounts following embracing christian missionaries conversion practice., and by provoking Hindus to retaliate with a vengeance(lynching/cutting/burning etc.,) under the pretext of religion., breed terrorism among Hindu's..., we should stop this...,
Let us stop this to uphold the REAL Hinduism...,

BJPs hidden idelogy is expressed in the open. it cannot be supressed in the mind for long. Whether its Modi or Amith Shah or Nalin or Pragya or Annanth Hegde....etc, they all belong to the same category. They are Godse admirers and Bapu haters. They can only make our country like another Syria or Libya. To vote these people is just to endorse riots in our country.

So called educated people of D.K. had voted uneducated and uncivilized person as their M.P. which speaks volumes about our priorities in life. The big question is whether education makes a person civilized and knowledgeable? I am sure there are people who feel proud about this M.P. Only God has to save our country.
