Karkala, Jun 6: Prof Niranjan Chiplunkar, principal NMAMIT, Nitte and Prof Parameswaran, director, Industry Institute Interaction, NMAMIT, Nitte visited Israel, under Indo-Israel Space Tech Leadership Programme organized by Indian Technical Congress Association (ITCA) from May 26 to 30.
There were 20 members in the visiting team, from different Technical Institutes of India. ITCA President Dr. Murali Krishna Reddy was accompanying the team.
The team visited Nano-satellite Center of Tel-Aviv University, Herziliya Science Center, Israel Space Agency, Image Sat International and Agriculture Research Organization at Volcani Center. The purpose of the visit was to get a first-hand information about the Student Satellite program of Israel. ITCA is coordinating design, development and launch of 75 satellites to be developed by the students of Engineering Institutes in India by the year 2022 which is the 75th year of Indian Independence.
NMAMIT is participating in this programme and the visit helped to get a broad picture of a similar program in Israel.
