Bengaluru, Nov 14: St Joseph’s School, CBSE, Vital Mallya Road, celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 with great festive fervor, commemorating the 135th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The programme began with a prayer and song invoking God's blessing, followed by a tribute to Chacha Nehru.

Children’s Day holds deep significance as it highlights the importance of children in shaping the future of the country. The day was marked by various activities focusing on fun, learning, and creativity. The school organized competitions for students from pre-KG to class 12, including collage making, coloring, fancy dress, Nehru cap making, puppet making, poetry, and more to engage children in an entertaining atmosphere. Cultural programmes such as singing, dance, skits, fashion shows, and beatboxing captivated everyone.

The chief guest, Sweezal Furtado, who recently won the title of Miss Global India 2024 at a pageant in Jaipur and will represent India in Miss Global next year, shared her inspiring journey. She encouraged students to discover their hidden talents and spoke about overcoming challenges with the support of family, friends, and mentors.

School finance officer Fr Royston Pinto emphasized the importance of Children’s Day and encouraged students to show respect and gratitude to parents and elders through dedicated actions. Vice principal Sr Sheena Joseph shared her reflections on Children’s Day, remembering Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on this special occasion.

Children’s Day was a memorable event filled with laughter, creativity, and learning.
