Bantwal: Another woman tests positive for coronavirus

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal

Bantwal, Apr 26: Another person in Bantwal taluk has tested positive for coronavirus.

The lady, identified by number P-501, is a 47-year-old resident of Narikombu, Panemangalore.

The lady works as a sweeper in First Neuro Hospital, Padil.

It is learnt that she had come in contact with patient P-432, an elderly lady also from Bantwal, who died of coronavirus and who had previously been admitted to First Neuro Hospital.

As soon as P-432 had died, the staff at the hospital were quarantined and surrounding areas had been sealed.

A neighbour said that the lady had remained at home for two weeks during the lockdown, but returned to work the same day that the elderly corona patient died.

Local authorities have sealed down some of the areas surrounding the lady's house in Narikombu.

With this, five from Bantwal have tested positive for coronavirus so far. Two persons from a family who tested positive have passed away, while three others are in quarantine.

The new case has taken Dakshina Kannada's tally to 19, out of whom 12 have been dischared and five are under treatment.

We hail only doctors and nurses but support staff are also frontline workers and require protection. God bless and protect them.

This virus is destroying the T cells and lymphocytes in the human body just like AIDS. Of late, news from Wuhan is that it is affecting the nervous system also.kidneys and liver is sure to get damaged by this.We do not know what all it further affects, since it is new.
Lockdown is just a means of slowdown of the virus transmission and spreading. But the real challenge is to find a vaccine or medicine to overcome this disaster.solution lies in this
This play of the virus will start to die from July onwards in a slow manner.

In reply to the above readers, some time before it was said in TOI and some other news papers that the medicine to cure HIV is used for treating Corona patients. Well we are not aware much of this. But end of Corona in July is hard to believe. Recently WHO head mentioned that Corona will be with us till 2022. Some news papers say that social distancing may continue till 2022 also.

Moreover once borders and flights are open, there will be more concerns, more challenges. The checks should be very stringent and effective without any excuses, whoever it may be, should strictly made to pass through the checking procedures for Corona.

However unless this is eradicated completely, we cannot assume of any confirmed time. The whole world is waiting for the medicine for Corona. As of now the best way is we follow the directives given by the Government and the health officials and follow them. At this point of time we need to be very supportive to each other. If everybody thinks, avoid getting infected then we can stop this spread. If we get careless and continue with our same old attitude, then God Save us!!!!!!

Stay Home, Be Safe.....Pray for everyone....God bless you all.

Dear Hemanth, IMHO, many medicines, already available, have been said to be beneficial in treatment of CORONA, but none has been proven so far!
BTW, if I am not mistaken, researchers in Australia r of the opinion that BCG vaccine which is compulsorily given to Indians is granting us strong immunity against the virus with lowest mortality rates; and a big research is going on along the same lines in Australia!

Let's hope, they find something positive in it to defeat CORONA at the earliest!

Oh God ! Is this hospital to be taken as the center of sprut in Mangalore ? Where did the first virus enter into it from ?

Are all the employees of the hospital, suppliers in contact with them, patients that came/left in the past month and family members of all of these - quarantined ?

Oh God, please save us !

It is clearly said that -and who had previously been admitted to First Neuro Hospital. Also i can see that - A neighbour said that the lady had remained at home for two weeks during the lockdown, but returned to work the same day that the elderly corona patient died. - If this is the case, then how did P501 came in contact with P432?? Just a thought! More clarity would be helpful for the readers so that at least the people of Bantwal can be more cautious.

Please read the last two comments (Rudolf & me) from the news that we all discussed here yesterday about this topic.

We (me & Rudolf) suspect that the elderly lady may have suffered a stroke because of the virus' infection. Since she was under medication, her symptoms were slow to surface but her DIL's symptoms were prominent because she wasn't on any medication. Obvious that from where the lady got it - the male members of the family could be more immune.

This enables to believe that the cleaning lady got the infection from the elderly lady, much before the lock-down. Investigation about the start (date) of her sickness will help to determine this.

Dear Deshbhakht, I didn't speculate (in my earlier post) from where the infection started, but I just updated on latest findings in USA that many CORONA patients had ischemic brain stroke (due to blood clots), also clots found while giving dialysis; but since the stroke victim was admitted much earlier (35 days), it would be difficult to say that no doctor treating her found some symptoms of CORONA & suspected the same for more than a month of stroke treatment??

    Dear Deshbhakt,
IMHO, there is no medicine against CORONA till date, but only supportive care & control of comorbid conditions if any!

Request to DC, strict rules should be there if private hospitals and clenics wants to treat the patients. It looks like these private hospitals do not care about cleaning staff. Only proving PPE to Dr and Nurses will not help. There should be restriction on visitors.

Dear Anandji, it's not so easy as you said, because there are so many other ailments which a person could suffer, which requires emergent treatment! One cannot neglect these patients (emergency) because CORONA conundrum is going on!

BTW, did u not read the case of a young woman from Panvel (news published in DW) who died of untreated appendicitis (life threatening) due to unavailability of ambulance!

BTW, if I am not mistaken, KMC Manipal is to start regular OPD from Apr 27 subject to conditions!!

    I request DC,

Please donot wait for state or central govt, this is emergency. PLEASE ASK FABRIC INDUSTRY TO MAKE PPE kits n distribute to all health sectors, doctors, hospital staffs. In many parts of india all are doing these kits as self reliance work.

Careless attitude akways leads to danger. All private hospital
Comeon even though corona patients not coming u have to wear ppe kits and diagnose normal patients.
