Objections raised over distribution of cards with QR code leading to Bible teachings in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 3 (IANS): An incident involving public objections to the distribution of cards containing a QR code leading to Bible teachings has come to light in Bengaluru on Monday.

Hindu activists and local residents have alleged an attempt at religious ‘conversion’ through digital means.

The incident occurred in the Begur locality of Bengaluru. According to the police, a group of women on Begur Main Road were distributing cards resembling personal visiting cards, each containing a QR code.

The women claimed that if people were facing issues such as life problems, unemployment or difficulties in getting married, scanning the QR code would provide them with solutions.

One woman, after noticing the group interacting with passersby and distributing the cards, approached them to inquire about their activities.

The group told her that if she had any difficulties in life, she could find solutions by scanning the QR code.

When the woman scanned the QR code on the spot, it led to teachings from the Holy Bible.

Upon discovering the religious content, the woman confronted the group, but the women distributing the QR-coded cards quickly left.

Hindu activists have demanded action against the digital religious ‘conversion’ attempts in Bengaluru.

The police have stated that they will verify the facts if a formal complaint is filed. Further details on the case are yet to emerge.

In a related development, Karnataka police arrested one person on July 22, 2024, in connection with an alleged religious conversion attempt targeting Hindu pilgrims in Ballari district. The accused was reportedly targeting devotees walking to the Hindu pilgrimage centre in Mantralaya.

Additionally, in November 2022, at least 12 individuals were arrested in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district for attempting to convert tribal people to another religion.

More recently, on September 3, 2024, Karnataka police arrested a 27-year-old postgraduate medical student, Mohammad Danish Khan, in Udupi district for allegedly attempting to forcefully convert his classmate to another religion.

Just dump the card if it leads you to some religious teachings which you don't endorse to! BTW; in Mumbai people of so many different religions distribute handbills, sing bhajans etc. etc., but nobody is bothered; those with inquisitive minds spend some time to see what exactly it is; that's all!

One needs to scan a QR Code or Scan A True Crucifix ? to set oneself free from their evil deeds, guilts, and have completed prison term, if any, for eternal life and Jesus on why ? Jesus on a True Crucifix... in a Message to Prophet John Leary dated Thursday, September 6, 2018: Jesus said: “My people, I pray that all churches could afford to have a large crucifix placed on the altar. When you have My corpus on the cross, then it is a true crucifix. A cross without My corpus does not convey how much I suffered on My cross. Crosses with a resurrected corpus also do not show My suffering. When you look on My crucifix, this reminds you of how much I love all of you, that I would die for your sins. Give praise and thanks to Me for all I do for you.”

Reading the Bible verses will not convert anyone so it's with other religious scriptures. Why so much noise...if one doesn't want to read just forget and follow what you are following. Conversion has to come from one's own heart and mind.

Bible is more about eternal life after death and how to live it. On this earth whatever bad karma one does, Guilt remains in one's heart and one will have no Shanthi. Even after the prison term if any, when it comes to adultery, murder, violence, hurts, hatred, anger, jealousy, envy animal sacrifices or dip in rivers or forgiveness through already shed Blood of Christ sets one free ? If Son (Jesus) sets one free, one is Free Indeed says the Eternal Divine Word.

Bible is not teaching hate or jealousy or voilence. It is teaching good golden rules of life on how to live a peaceful life. Even scan code makes no much difference because knowledge is power in learning good things free of cost. Why people are so much worried about Jesus?

People who don't believe their own religion and don't have faith with their own people will do this kind of protests against the good deeds.

So basically what Hindus are worried about is that people reading bible will lead to them converted. That's a height of insecurity if there was ever one.

QR code is an advancement in technology, not a miracle. Further there is no any force or magic involved in this act.
