Udupi: Kasturba Hospital Manipal OPD services to be non-functional between Jul 21, 26

Media Release

Udupi, Jul 20: As a precautionary measure to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID–19), the management of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal OPD services will not be functional from Tuesday July 21 to Sunday July 26.

The OPD services will resume from Monday July 27 as before. This is mainly due to the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in Udupi districts and we have also noticed that many of our healthcare workers have been affected in the last few days. The closure of OPD will help us to sanitize the entire hospital. We are also in the process of creating 200 beds for COVID patients at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

However, to continue to provide consultation service and follow-up support to patients, the management has introduced consultation via video consultation services. Under this service, people can contact their doctors by sitting in their homes. The doctors will give teleconsultation or video call consultation and medical advice through the phone. People can contact our specialist doctors of all the departments from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm by calling: 080 47192235. Trauma and emergency services will be functional as usual 24X7.
