Beltangady, Aug 29: In an incident that occurred at Ninnikallu in Ujire, a man tried to rape a young girl who was grazing sheep. Locals caught the alleged accused and handed him over to the police.
Sadiq is the youth who was handed over to the police. He allegedly pulled the hand of the young girl who was grazing the sheep by the road side at Ninnikallu. When the girl wailed loudly, her brother came to her rescue and caught Sadiq on the spot and beat him. He informed the matter to locals.
The locals who immediately rushed to the spot, handed over the culprit to the Beltangady police station.
