Bangalore, Apr 23: BJP state president, K S Eshwarappa, has been kicked out of the BJP dissidents’ camp, as the leaders of this camp feel that he is not reliable, and as he shifts stance without any prior hints. Henceforth, BJP national general secretary, Anant Kumar, Reddy brothers and Sriramulu from Bellary district, rural development minister, Jagadish Shettar and other dissidents will chalk out action plan to strip Yeddyurappa of his Chief Ministership, it is learnt.
At present, these dissidents have decided to wait and watch, as in-charge of state BJP affairs, Dharmendra Pradhan, has given a clear indication that the top leadership is not interested to topple Yeddyurappa at this juncture. They will in the meantime, work to garner support for their movement by fishing for legislators, who are disgruntled over the style of functioning of the Chief Minister (CM). The decision to keep Eshwarappa out of the group was taken after Pradhan concluded his parleys with legislators and other leaders. The dissidents are angry that Eshwarappa, who was in the forefront in their fight against Yeddyurappa, and was more vocal in his attacks against the Chief Minister, suddenly made truce with the latter. They strongly feel that the dissidence in the state BJP fizzled out, and a golden opportunity to unseat the CM was lost, because of Eshwarappa.
These leaders have decided to deal carefully with Eshwarappa henceforth, and not to trust his assurances and utterances at their face value. The dissidents have decided to closely watch the progress of cases pending in courts against Yeddyurappa’s family members, and to fashion their future action on the basis of developments of these cases.
