London, April 24 (IANS) Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to play a "music-hating villain" in the forthcoming movie "Rock of Ages".
According to reports, Zeta-Jones is in final negotiations to join the movie, which is based on an award-winning Broadway musical.
The story follows a small-town girl who travels to Hollywood in the mid 1980s in search of the "big-haired sound".
Zeta-Jones' character did not feature in the Broadway version and has been created especially for the movie, reports contactmusic.com.
Director Adam Shankman describes the villain as being the product of a "Tipper Gore and Anita Bryant love child".
"It's like the musical gods just blessed us". The production has already attracted an all-star cast, with Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, R&B singer Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti and newcomer Julianne Hough all set to appear.
