Dalit family fined Rs 60k after boy touches Hindu god's idol

Kolar (Karnataka), Sep 20 (IANS): A Dalit family in Karnataka's Koppal district has been fined Rs 60,000 after its boy entered the temple and touched Hindu god's idol.

According to local sources, the Dalit boy had touched the idol ready to be taken out for the procession at the Hullerahalli village in Malur taluk.

Local residents said that a temple was constructed and the villagers decided to celebrate it.

During the celebrations three days ago, Chetan touched the idol and attempted to carry it on his head.

At this point, the villagers shooed him away and imposed Rs 60,000 fine on his family.

The village leaders have asked the parents of Dalit boy Ramesh and Shobha not to enter village until they pay the fine amount.

Miscreants are also making threatening calls to the boy's mother.

The Dalit family is yet to file a complaint in this regard.

Jossy Tauro, Mangalore, This is a problem wich was prevelant since centuries ago. It has subsided. It is now coming here & there in some remote corners of India. Let us bring a uniform civil code where nobody is superior or inferior. Religion is only in the confines of home and nowhere else. Nobody wants any particular Rashtra. these are the constructs of few pseudo liberals. How can a Hindu rashtra be built without erasing inequality?

Have we imbibed any of Gandhi's teachings? What did he call the so called lwoer castes? Harijans. What does it mean? God's own people. God creates everyone as equals. Man divides them. If God is offended by the touch of a human then that God is not worth worshipping. A Dalit in India is better off being converted to a Christian or Muslim than remain a lower caste Hindu. That is the awful truth.

Education minister wants to compliment Bhagwadgita in high school and colleges as moral science and what is practiced in society is ridiculous. Does all these acts are encouraged in holi scripture? Double faced, double engine governmet is so ignorant what is happening in the country. Their only intention to promote Hindutva with out any concern about how humanity is treated on cas, creed in our country. 60,000 rs. Fine ? Did god demand such action ?

What will they do with that fine upon collection ? Offer it to the very deity whom the boy touched? Is this not same as worshipping Gau on one hand but exporting the meat and earning revenue on the other ? What use is the money put for ?? Build temples ?

Mostly lack of knowledge! Holy Scripture says "You are gods, Sons or Children of the Most High." So All are gods and why to demonise others and become demons ? Better to be gods or god like than to become evil. Better Worship one another and God or Love God and One Another as God is Love and all are God's creation. Body comes from parents but body (the box) animating an Eternal Soul comes from God for everyone.

Ironically, most people dont know that they have a soul at the moment of conception and the breath, the Spirit also comes God. Inhaling Yah and exhaling Weh or Yahweh, God's spirit makes everyone saying God's name all the time! No breath of God or If it stops permanently then death of the body (becomes dust) and one's soul returns to God as Soul belongs to God!

Hindu Khatre meh! From whom? Themselves, is it not? It is beyond me to understand that even Hindu God's statue gets corrupt if a poor human being whom these third-rate higher cast calls as Dalit, touches it? In which century we are living in? Where is the so-called current Govt., supposed to be safe guarding the Hindus? Looks like the cows which are now roaming the roads and ying in hundreds due to starvation, more important than Dalit Hindus? Disgusting. 60000 fine? So, money cleans even the Hindu God?

As this is direct insult to Modi’s BJP party to touch upper class Hindu God’s idols by Dalits who are Hindus too. Even posting by Dalit directed towards Modi in social media requesting to be honest in social justice is a punishable offence by BJP govt.
