Udupi: Philatelist Daniel Monteiro Makes Entry into Limca Book of Records

Udupi, Apr 28: Daniel Monteiro, philatelic enthusiast, naturalist and employed as an assistant at SMS College, Brahmavar, near here has made his entry into the Limca Book of Records, in recognition of his extraordinary achievement in national and international philatelic exhibitions.
Daniel has bagged 10 silver and bronze medals in philatelic competitions held in Austria, Belgium, South Africa, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, China, and Singapore including India. Besides he has bagged over 30 gold and silver medals in both national and state philatelic competitions.
He has been so far presented with at least 31 awards in all by various social welfare and voluntary organization for his achievemnets in the field. He had exhibited over 8,000 postage stamps of birds during Feather Fex – 2009, a marvellous feat indeed.
He is an active member of both Mangalore and Udupi Philatelic Association and specializes in birds' philately.
