Kundapur, Oct 1: Kundapur taluk committee of Buntara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangha, Mangaluru inaugurated the renovated R N Shetty auditorium, unveiled the statue of R N Shetty, presented the late Yadthar Manjayya Shetty awards, felicitated special achievers, donated funds to the poor and scholarships.

Former Vidhan Parishad speaker K Pratapchandra Shetty who inaugurated the programme said that the installation of the statue of R N Shetty to remember the donors for the auditorium is meaningful.

Basrur Mahalingeshwara temple trustee B Appanna Hegde unveiled the statue. N I Shetty, the relative of R N Shetty inaugurated the auditorium. Buntara Sangha president Ajith Kumar Shetty Maladi presided over the programme.

Late Yadthare Manjayya Shetty memorial award was presented to Dr Shantaram Shetty, managing director of Tejaswini hospital. Dr Shantaram Shetty said that he has received several awards but this award is more valuable and has humbled him.

Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, M Shivarama Hegde, managing director of Bengaluru south field paints, B Udayakumar Hegde, president of Kushala Hegde charitable trust, Sampigedi Sanjva Shetty, joint secretary of Buntara Sangha, B Anandaram Shetty, honorary secretary of Buntara Sangha Bengaluru, Amaranath Shetty Mandarthi, treasurer, Dr Amparu Nithyananda Shetty, president of Yuva Buntara Sangha, Konke Sanjiva Shetty, Krishnaprasad Rai, treasurer were present as guests of honour.

Among the felicities were B Appanna Hegde for achievements relating to temple, K Rajiv Shetty Adodu, retired education officer for achievements in educational sector, senior advocate A B Shetty Kundapur, retired taluk medical officer Dr A Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Red Cross Kundapur officer S Jayakar Shetty and agriculturist Sadashiva Shetty Kattimane Thombattu.

Executive committee members Somashekar Shetty Kenchanoor, Sampath Kumar Shetty Kavradi, Chittaranjana Hegde Harkur, Rohit Kumar Shetty Brahmavar, Surprita Deepak Shetty Nailadi, appointed members Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, Shivarama Shetty Malyadi and Ramesh Shetty Gulvadi were present.

Buntara Sangha Kundapur taluk committee convener Sudhakar Shetty Avarse welcomed and gave an introductory address. Co convener Vikas Hegde Kolkere rendered a vote of thanks. Professor Akshay Hegde Molahalli compered the programme.
