Puttur: Interstate burglar involved in serial thefts arrested

Puttur, Oct 18: Puttur rural police have taken into custody an interstate burglar involved in a series of house thefts in Kattatharu of Keyooru village, Keyooru and Madavu.

The accused is identified as Mohammed K U (42) of Kerala descent and a resident of Varambil in Alukodu village of Talipemba taluk in Kannur district.

On interrogation, the accused confessed to the series of thefts that took place last year in the houses of Savanuru and Pallatharu of Belandur locality.

The police recovered gold ornaments valued at Rs 2.5 lac and a stolen motorcycle from the accused.

During interrogation, it was also found that the accused was involved in a series of thefts in Vittal, Konaje, Bantwal, Punjalkatte.

Already in Kerala, there are 120 cases of house thefts pending against his name.
