Mumbai, May 5 (IANS) Six people, including a child and a woman, were killed and four injured Thursday morning when a speeding car rammed into a truck on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway here, police said.
The accident took place on the busy and accident-prone Ghoti-Sinnar route which serves as a bypass to the pilgrim centre of Shirdi, around 175 km from here.
"Around 6 a.m., a speeding Innova and a truck were involved in a collision," police officer Najir Shaikh told IANS.
Efforts are on to take out the Innova, registered in Mumbai, from under the truck, Shaikh said.
The injured, two women and two children, have been taken to hospitals in Nashik and Beed.
