Campaign against halal products in Karnataka ahead of Diwali

Bengaluru, Oct 18 (IANS): Hindu organisations in Karnataka have launched a campaign urging people to boycott halal certified products from Tuesday during the festive season of Diwali, leaving the authorities concerned.

The organisations are also taking up a campaign to get rid of halal certification as it leads to "one religion riding over another economically."

Hindu Jana Jagruthi Committee State Spokesperson Mohan Gowda had announced that the campaign against halal would continue throughout the festival of lights.

As part of the campaign, people are being asked to refrain from buying crackers, festival products and meat which have halal certification. They should not be accepted and care should be taken at the time of purchase not to take halal products.

On October 16, the samithi held an Anti-Halal convention and gave a call to the public not to make purchases of any halal certified products.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka police department is taking no chances with the development and considering the sensitivity of the issue tight vigilance has been arranged across the state to maintain law and order situation.

How they are certfying Halal certfied sticker when exporting meat to Arabcountries. Also, Arabs must intentionally, or mandatory to stick to H alal certfied oul. As tit for tat answer. Ourcountry talks about Trillions of Dollars Wconomy exporting I ndian products, goods and heavy machinery and if they demand similar certification ? Foolishness is crossing all logical and sensible limits.

Let the Arabs do what they want. Let us do what we want. It is only an awarenes campaign. Nobody forced to eat non Halaal meat. Hindus are not forcing muslims to eat non Halaal meat. So it is fair.

People will decide what is right and good for them and nobody else even the govt doesn’t the right to decide for people in thier private and personal lives. If govt or anyone else interferes then it’s dictatorship and not democracy, so it’s anti constitutional and illegal and these anti -social elements who campaign against choice of food should be dragged to court.

Here people are deciding and not the government. It is the perogative of the government to certify the quality and not a group of private people. if such private people want to thrust the same on the people, then other people also have a choice not to buy it. Giving information about Halaal and how it can become a paralell economy at the expense of all non muslims is nothing wrong. there is no force on peoples choices.

The boycott is bound to fail for two reasons - 1. There is no prohibition for halal products, even Hindus are selling halal. 2. These are jobless chaddi gang people who don't know to do business and be competitive. Let them boycott and once it fails, they will see their own 'power'. Only buy halal and consume halal, it is perfectly fine to consume meat that is cut this way.

Excellent! Halal or kosher meat is widely sold in the world, for people from two religions, Jewish and Muslim. also Christians. So indirectly, they don't want Arab money and we don't want these people to gain wealth, as they are chaddi gang people. So good! Let them boycott wholeheartedly. It simply will fail miserably and the prices will remain stable.

Halaal will put Hindu businessmen in a disadvantage position. No wonder lot of Hindus have been unknowingly thrown out of meat & fish business. Before its too late, create awareness among people. finally after being informed. let people choose wherever they want to buy.
