Mangaluru: SCS Hospital to hold violin concert by Padma Shri Kanyakumari on Oct 22

Mangaluru, Oct 19: SCS Hospital will conduct a violin concert by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sringeri Asthana Vidushi Padma Shri A Kanyakumari on October 22 at town hall to commemorate the 120th Birth Anniversary of SCS founder chairman Sorake Chandrashekar.

Padma Shri A Kanyakumari will be accompanied by Sayee Rakshit (on Violin), Dr Patri Sathish Kumar (on Mrindangam) and Trichy K R Kumar (on Ghatam).

During the inaugural function, deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, Vidushi A Kanyakumari, president of Sangeeta Parishath Pradeep MV, president of Sangeetha Bharathi Ustad Rafique Khan and president of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Kshetra Kudroli H S Sairam will be present.

SCS Hospital is distributing scholarship to the most deserving students since 37 years. Even on October 22, scholarships will be distributed to the deserving students who are in financial difficulties. As many as 50 applications were received and scholarship up to Rs 6 lac will be distributed to the students.

Dr Jeevaraj Sorake, M S, chairman and managing director – SCS Hospital has been providing scholarships to the deserving students every year on October22 in fond remembrance of his father S Chandrashekar and this year too, they continue the tradition of annual scholarships to the deserving students.

    She used to accompany another Padma Shri Awardee from namma Kudla Late Dr. Kadri Gopalnath. Really a good move to spur and/or nurture Carnatic classical music in Mangalore.
