Bantwal: Bus collides with two cars, Mescom engineer killed

Bantwal, Oct 21: In a ghastly road accident that occurred near Manihalla on Bantwal-Dharmasthala national highway between two cars and a bus, one person died.

The deceased is identified as Praveen Joshi (45), assistant executive engineer of Mescom Vittal. He is survived by wife, son and a daughter.

The car which the deceased was driving was rammed into by another car and a bus at around 11 am on Friday. The car was completely mangled due to the impact of the accident. The locals had a tough time getting the injured Joshi out of the car. Though he was rushed to Thumbay and then to a private hospital in Mangaluru, he succumbed to his injuries.

 

Initially, the car being driven by Praveen and another car that was proceeding to Vagga from Bantwal collided with each other. In the meantime, the bus which approached from behind collided with both the cars.

The vehicles were removed from the spot using a crane. Melkar traffic SI Murthy and personnel visited the spot. A case in this connection is registered in Bantwal traffic police station.
