Mangaluru, Oct 21: KPCC coordinator Prathibha Kulai has lashed out at the social media trolls against her and said she will file a complaint with the police against the derogatory remarks made in the trolls over her participation in the toll gate protests held on October 18.
Addressing media persons here on Friday, October 21, Prathibha Kulai said, “The reason behind my courage to protest is my educational qualification. I am also pursuing a PhD on women empowerment. I will never fear the trolls in social media and I will take them positively as they are a boon to my political growth.”
She said, “I feel happy about the protests on October 18 as it was pro-people’s movement. I don’t care about being trolled for my screaming as it has gone viral. I am not an object in the video of lancha or mancha (corruption or sex scandal). Although sex scandal and corruption videos involving BJP leaders like Halappa, Raghupathy Bhat, Jharkiholi and Eshwarappa have gone viral they continue to be fearless, courageous and shameless about facing the public and contesting the elections. They why should I be afraid of the video which went viral on social media with regard to my screaming in the protests?” asked Prathibha.
“I have 10 years of experience in politics. The protest was against the illegitimate collection of tolls at the Surathkal toll gate. I have not created any stories like the one that Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja has created. I fought and raised my voice for the society,” she added.
Prathibha also said, “My screaming video at the protest was portrayed as Kanthara part two. I have shown my Kanthara part one when I tackled the Kodikere gang. The second part of Kanthara was when I bashed up Abdul Satthar who misbehaved. The third part of Kanthara will be about a building that has come up in Surathkal which is untouched after Mohiudeen Bava lost his seat in his constituency and many more such parts will come up soon.”
The KPCC co-ordinator further said, “my voice will be louder, some compared me with Nagavalli, a character in the movie Aapta Mitra. I am not the Nagavalli which was shown in the movie, but I am the original Nagavalli. I have shown that character when I announced a bounty of Rs 1 lac to blacken BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari for his alleged remarks against Billawa community, Koti Chennaya and Congress leader Janardhana Poojary. Apart from this I have knocked the door of a person at 12 am who sexually abused me in social media and made him apologise. I will knock on their doors at 12 am like Nagavalli who sexually abuse me in the social media.”
Prathibha Kulai also said, “I will meet Police Commissioner N Shashikumar to file a complaint against two persons namely Shyama Sudharshan Bhat Hosamole and K R Shetty Adyarpadav for making derogatory and vulgar comments against me during the Surathkal protest on October 18.”
She said, “Shyama Sudharshan Bhat seems to be suffering from some mental disorder. He must be reminded about his mother, sister, wife before posting such derogatory and vulgar comments in the social media. He is a BJP representative, a party which speaks about religion, women, culture and tradition. These comments show their culture. He has lowered his own dignity with that comment. I did not raise slogans against BJP leaders during the protest. My blouse was torn during the protest. I screamed out of helplessness, I have been trolled for my helplessness which shows their mentality,” concluded Prathibha Kulai.
