Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 21: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, October 21, reported six new coronavirus cases while nine cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,134, out of which 21 are currently active. As many as nine patients were discharged on October 21.

No deaths were reported on October 21. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,861.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.98 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Nine coronavirus cases were reported on October 21. The total active Covid cases are 22.

A total of 10,90,802 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,959 have received both doses and 2,96,920 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported six cases while Kundapur added three cases.
