Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE school commemorates World Food Day

Mangaluru, Oct 29: World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide on October 16 to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with hunger and food security, including the World Food Programme, the World Health Organization and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

St Agnes CBSE school also recognised this day meaningfully by presenting the importance of the day at the school assembly. A group of students from grade III also visited St Joseph Prashantha Nilaya Orphanage and presented a short programme on importance of food. As token of love students distributed the eatables to the inmates.

Several activities were also conducted in school such as Healthy Platter presentation, Tri-colour Salad display and Fruit and Vegetable Carving. The message was highlighted on importance of food and to avoid wasting food.

Let’s respect the farmers who work behind in the fields to give us food.
