Mangaluru: 55-year-old physical education teacher dies in accident

Mangaluru, Oct 29: A physical education teacher of a private school died in a road accident near Deralakatte mosque here on Saturday October 29.

The deceased is identified as Ismail (55), a resident of Deralakatte. A speeding bike knocked him down when he was crossing the road after school hours. Ismail was severely injured in the incident. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Two bike riders were also injured.

Ismail was a good theater artiste. He used to perform the duties of a referee in state level Kho Kho competitions. He was also the organizing secretary for Ullal taluk volleyball association.

He is survived by two daughters and a son.

A case is registered in Mangaluru south traffic police station.
