Mangaluru: Robert Ferrao killed in fishing boat capsize at Adyar Katte

Ullal, Oct 30: A man was killed after the boat he was fishing in capsized in Nethravathi river at Adyar Katte near Harekala on Sunday, October 30.

The accident occured in Netravati river at Harekala under Vamanjoor police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Ferrao (77), a resident of Adyar. Robert had gone fishing alone on a small boat owned by him.

The boat came under the strong current and capsized at around 4:30 pm. 

A group of labourers from other states who were working on the Harekala-Adyar bridge rescued him.

The police and locals rushed the victim to Wenlock Hospital. However, Robert failed to respond to treatment and succumbed.
