Kasargod: 16-year-old student falls into sea while fishing from a rock, dies

Kasargod, Oct 31: A student fell from a rock into the sea and died of drowning while fishing in the sea. The incident happened at Bekal on Monday morning.  

The deceased was Bekal, Shaktinagar resident Shuhaib (16). He was a plus one student at Pallikere school.

He had reached the sea shore in the morning in the company of his brother and father to catch shellfish. He was washed away in the strong waves that lashed the rock when he was picking up the shellfish.

His mortal remains were retrieved in the afternoon in a search operation conducted jointly by the Bekal police, coast guard police and the fire brigade personnel.
