Kundapur: Police crack kidnap case in 24 hours, rescue college student

Kundapur, Nov 2: Police cracked a kidnap case of a college student within 24 hours and arrested concern on Wednesday November 2.

The kidnapped student is identified as Shashank (21), son of Govinda Shetty, resident of Jansale in Siddapur of the taluk.

Shashank is a student of a private college in Kundapur. On October 31, he had gone to college at 8.30 am. At 9.30 am, Shashank called his father from his mobile and said that he is kidnapped by strangers from Coastal Crown Mall near Koteshwar in a car and threatened him to demand Rs 30 lac from his father. In addition, the kidnapper spoke to Shashank’s father and asked him to pay Rs 30 lac and take his son away.

As Shashank did not return home even after two days of the incident, a distraught mother of Shashank filed a complaint in Kundapur police station on Tuesday November 1 evening.

Kundapur police rescued Shashank and caught accused Kirana of Hubballi origin at Kushtagi within 24 hours of filing the complaint. It is said that both the kidnapper and Shashank had some financial deal between them. Investigation will reveal the truth.

It is said that both the kidnapper and Shashank had some financial deal between them. Could you imagine a scenario where the kidnaper was of another religion, how lose tongue Shobakka would have vomited poison claiming this country is not safe for Hindus? She thinks that if it is all Hindus, India is going to be haven of peace. Still our blind voters believe that irrespective of inflation, unemployment there is only one party that can save India.

    Anand A, Mangaluru If kidnappers are Hindus, police can easily catch them because no political interference and no stone pelting on police action. That makes the difference.

    Strange .So called victim self calling home soon after abducting him only one hour after.Certainly it is not normal abduction.Planned by both ?Even after days victim was waiting without any harm .?Something very fishy.Investigate properly and findout the role of victim?
