Udupi: Sorake’s allegations against MLA Mendon baseless, says district BJP

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD/MS)

Udupi, Nov 3: The district BJP said that former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake’s allegations of BJP MLA Lalaji Mendon protecting cow thieves was totally baseless. Earlier, Sorake had also said that MLA Mendon himself had called the police station and got the confiscated cows released.

Addressing media on Thursday November 3, Kuilady Suresh Nayak, district BJP president said, “The BJP or its MLAs have not protected the cow thieves. Congress workers have called the police station in the guise of Bajrang Dal members.

“Sorake never said in his life time to punish cattle thieves. Only because elections are round the corner, the only work Congress leaders have is to accuse BJP. They accuse BJP in every nook and corner.

“The SDPI has won three seats in Kaup municipality. That is why Sorake has lost his sleep. He says that BJP and SDPI have an inside understanding. Udupi district knows the relation Sorake has with SDPI. Do not play politics just for the sake of personal benefit.

“Sorake knows that he is not going to win Kaup constituency. Does he have proof that MLA Mendon had called the police station? If Sorake wants, he gets police themselves to call. He also gets Congress workers to call in the guise of Bajrang Dal members. We have record with us for the same.

“If Sorake was honest, he would not have to come to Kaup from Puttur. He is accusing the SDPI for the sake of Hindu votes. What stand has he taken regarding the hijab issue? Udupi Congress could not take even a minor stand on hijab,” he said.
