Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha's annual day on Nov 6, Kalakar Puraskar Award for three artistes

Mangaluru, Nov 3: Three Konkani artistes will receive Kalakar Puraskar Award from Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) during its 79th annual day and inaugural of the 80th year of its existence. The grand celebration will be held on November 6, 5 pm onwards at Don Bosco Hall.

Three veteran theater artistes will be awarded with Kalakar Puraskar Award for their meritorious service to the Konkani theatre. The award includes honour with a shawl, fruits-flowers, memento, citation and Rs 10,000.

John M Permannur will be awarded with MP D'Sa Kalakar Award (Instituted by Mr Nelson Rodrigues, Dubai), Joseph Rego will be awarded with Dr Austin D'Souza Prabhu Chicago Kalakar Award and Judith D'Souza will be awarded with James Mendonca Kalakar Award.

Meanwhile, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the elocution, poetry, fancy dress, dance, Voviyo Verse and short play competitions conducted during August-September 2022 as part of annual competitions.

A short entertainment programme with singing and comedy skits will be an attraction at the annual day celebration.

KNS president Fr Rocky D'Cunha OFM Cap, vice president Liston D'Souza, general secretary Floyd D'Mello, assistant secretary Praveen Rodrigues, treasurer Gerald Concessao and managing committee members have requested all to be present for the celebration.
