Udupi: Court convicts accused in a theft case involving advocate

Udupi, Nov 4: A Udupi court has convicted an accused for stealing from the residence of an advocate.

It may be recalled that on February 23, 2022, the accused Philip P Thomas entered the residence of advocate Novel Prashanth Karkada near UBMC Jubilee Church and stole a laptop and a mobile phone from the latter's residence.

Udupi town police had registered a case and filed a chargesheet to the court.

As the accused was found guilty, senior District and Sessions court judge Shakunthala S sentenced the accused to 8 months of imprisonment.

Senior assistant Jayanthi K argued for the case as a public prosecutor.
