Washington state senator visits Puthige seer at Seattle

Udupi, Nov 5: Washington state senator visited Shri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puthige Math in Seattle. Swamiji and the senator had a very engaging conversation about Indian philosophy.

Senator was curious about decision making and how Bhagavad-Gita guides humans. Swamiji spoke at length regarding Bhagavad-Gita and Indian value systems. Swamiji spoke extensively on how Puthige Math has been supporting Immigrants to safely practice their beliefs in foreign lands. Senator reaffirmed that the constitution of USA supports and gives freedom for everyone to practice their belief system and was also happy that the swamiji blessed Washington State with a branch.

Shri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji also thanked the senator on behalf of all the Indians for being flexible and ensuring the safety of all Indians. The senator was given a deeksha of Koti Gita Lekhana and was also invited by Swamiji to visit Udupi to be part of Paryaya 2024.

    Wish you could have given more details of the conversation between the two. Story like this needs to go beyond just a mention. If it was essential for a senator to listen to the swami, then I am sure what swami said must also be useful for ordinary people.
