Tehran, May 14 (IANS) An Iranian director plans to make a television series on the private life of Iran's last monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who ruled from 1941 to 1979, Mehr news agency reported.
Pahlavi (1919-80) was born in Tehran Oct 26, 1919. He completed his schooling in Switzerland and returned to Iran in 1935, thereby enrolling in a Tehran military school from which he graduated in 1938.
Pahlavi replaced his father, Reza Shah on the throne in September 1941.
Beset by cancer, the shah left Iran in January 1979 to begin a life in exile. He lived in Egypt, Morocco, the Bahamas, and Mexico before going to the US for treatment of lymphatic cancer.
