Rampur, May 15 (PTI) Criticising the hike in petrol price, opposition BJP today hit out at the UPA government alleging that the step was taken to "realise all its expenses" incurred on recently held elections in the five states.
"The rise in prices of petroleum products every second month during last six years of Congress rule emphatically points to an unpious nexus between petrol mafias and ruling party's strategy formulators," BJP National Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
The common man will have to bear the burden of an unprecedented costly and difficult future being woven by the pillars of the UPA government, he said.
"The pillars of the UPA government have all their preparedness to suck the blood of the poverty-ridden masses and by hiking the fuel price it is going to realises all its expenses incurred on recent elections in five states with interests," the BJP stalwart said.
