Mangaluru: Second cruise liner with tourists arrives at NMPT

Mangaluru, Dec 3: Huge sea cruise liner Seven Seas arrived at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) from Qatar on Friday.

The ship carries 686 tourists and 552 crew. It is 223.74 meter long and weighs 55254 tonnes. The tourists were welcomed in the traditional way by the beating of Chende drums and display of Yakshagana characters.

The tourists were taken to attractive tourist places including St Aloysius College Chapel, Thousand pillar Jain temple at Moodbidri, Kadri temple and Kudroli temple, by buses and private tourist taxis.

It may be recalled, cruise ship Europa 2 carrying 271 tourists on board and 373 personnel has reached NMPT on November 28.

    This should help mangalore develop as a tourist destination .. Tourism ..A big job multiplier .. will help economy.. by word of mouth if visitors from cruises spread their good experience will also help .. We need and should target overall high end.. tourists .. spending power .. or qualified students on holidays etc .. Accordingly we need to create a good eco system .. safety .. law and order .. cleanliness.. no dust and clean Rest rooms .. not get scammed .. by touts etc

    "Cruise arrived from Qatar, i am curious to know which nationality tourist belong to?" What is your expectation? The cruice must have originated from European country and now coming from Qatar. Any special wishes ?

    Municipality must focus on improvement and beautification of all piligrim holy places in arround the city there is no proper guidelines ,parking space tourist needs.
