Mangaluru: Organs successfully harvested from brain-dead duo at Father Muller Hospital

Mangaluru, Dec 12: The organs of two brain-dead men were retrieved and successfully sent by Father Muller Hospital to various recipients on Monday December 12.

Dhanya Kumar (37)  from Mudigere had met with an accident on December 8 at Bantkal. The accident occurred between a two-wheeler and a vehicle carrying poultry items. Dhanya was admitted to Father Muller Hospital on December 9 at 1 am.

The hospital confirmed that Dhanya was brain-dead. Later, the family decided to donate his organs.

The deceased’s heart and lungs were donated to MGM Hospital Chennai, liver to Fortis Hospital Bengaluru, cornea was retained for Father Muller Hospital, skin to Kasturba Hospital Manipal and Kidney to AJ Hospital.

Dhanya is survived by wife, daughter, parents and two sisters.

Neil Sequeira (39), son of Harold from Urwa met with an accident on December 3 at Uppala and was declared brain dead on December 9. Neil’s family donated organs on December 12 along with Dhanya’s family.

Both Neil and Dhanya saved 11 lives in the noble deed.

    God bless his family with love and care may his soul rest in peace. Also pray to God may his all donated parts be successfully Transplanted and all parts working fine . May the people who wear sick recover and praise and glorify his mighty name. This person was really a great person will be remember for ever through these people whole got his body parts.
