Mangaluru: 63-year-old worker dies in mud collapse during toilet construction

Mangaluru, Dec 14: A 63-year-old man died and two others injured when mud collapsed during the construction of a toilet pit on Tuesday, December 13 in the evening at Addooru village in Gurupur gram panchayat jurisdiction.

The deceased Adam along with two others were engaged in constructing a pit for a toilet. They had dug a pit up to about 7-8 feet in depth when the upper portion of the soil became loose and collapsed and thus Adam got stuck in the debris resulting in his death.

The injured who are identified as Ibrahim and Imitiaz have been admitted to a hospital.

Bajpe police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered.
