Beltangady: Farmer dies in scooter-auto rickshaw collision

Beltangady, Dec 14: A 48-year-old progressive agriculturist died following a collision between a scooter and an auto in Kashipatla village of the taluk on Tuesday December 13.

The deceased is identified as Nithyananda Poojary, a resident of Naravi village.

Nithyananda Poojary was riding a scooter and was on his way to Peradi. The accident occurred when the scooter he was riding collided head-on with an auto coming in the opposite direction on Korkadi Shirthadi road at Perandadka. Nithyananda Poojary who was grievously injured in the accident died on the spot.

Venooru police inspected the accident spot and Nithyananda Poojary's mortal remains were sent to the Beltangady public hospital for an autopsy.

The deceased is survived by his mother, wife Mallika who is also a Naravi gram panchayat member, a son and a daughter.
