CMs agreed on resolution in constitutional manner: Amit Shah on Maha-Karnataka border dispute

New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who on Wednesday chaired a meeting with Maharashtra and Karnataka Chief Ministers on their border dispute, said that both sides had agreed to resolve the issue in a constitutional manner.

The meeting, attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his Karnataka counterpart Basavraj Bommai, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, lasted for more than an hour.

Addressing media afterwards, Amit Shah said: "We have held a positive discussion on the ongoing border disputes between Maharashtra and Karnataka. Both sides have kept a positive attitude and it was unanimously decided that border disputes cannot be resolved on roads and can be only done through constitutional methods."

"In order to address the issue, a committee of 6 ministers, three each from both states will hold detailed talks to resolve the issue. Apart from that in order to ensure law and order at all costs, a committee under a senior IPS official will be formed."

Noting fake news is being spread through Twitter to create tension, Shah said: "It has also come to our notice that fake Twitter accounts named after senior leaders have played a very big role in flaring up the issue. It has been decided that FIRs will be registered against people behind this and they will be exposed."

Urging opposition parties to cooperate, Shah said: "I urge opposition parties in Maharashtra and Karnataka not to politicise this issue. We should wait for outcome of the discussions of the committee formed to resolve this issue & decision of Supreme Court. I'm confident that the NCP, the Congress and the Uddhav Thackeray group will cooperate."

Bommai was acting and calling press meets making false publicity about border issue as if Maharashtra is an enemy State. Highlighting the the issue to send a signal among public to consider voting BJP in coming election. They have expertise to fake problem and and formula to hush up the same as pre-planned. He was presenting himself as if ready to enter the battlefield. (cutti-donne) Why all that unnecessary drama was created in the first instance.

Bommai is an highly educated, has worked with Tatas and has rich experience in governance being part of United Janata Dal and then in BJP. He has pedigree too, having seen his father Sr Bommai being CM of state. Let us not ridicule him as 'weakest' CM, show proof of what is being alleged here.

Working with tata or any other corporate office makes you strong , educated and intelligent what type of logic is this. Bommai (sr) was a true leader and didn't bank on rss support he was a self made leader and chief minister. Where as this chief minister is a compromised cm selected by rss and Delhi with no power still today he is unable to expand his cabinet because Delhi not giving him an appointment. That's why he is a weak cm

@j.anata, Mangaluru / Bengaluru As per your statement Bommai who is an Engineer Is “Highly Educated” no wonder most of your comments make no sense, then you talk of pedigree - in which case Rahul Ghandhi comes from a world renowned educated and Political family, yes Bommai father was Karnataka CM and he was popular and led from the front, Bomma is a puppet - made some noise to show his empty power prior to elections forgetting that the Border dispute is pending before the Supreme. Our for blind bhakths any one flexing their muscles is a Hero.
