Bantwal: Antique house on fire, lacs worth household items gutted

Bantwal, Dec 18: Household items worth lacs of rupees were gutted after a house caught fire due to a short circuit at Devanadabettu of Kallige village in the taluk on the late night of December 16.

The house is a big one with an old-styled tiled roof belonging to Sundari and Shubha Ananda Banjan, residents of Devandabettu. Most of the house was built with wood.

It is estimated that the loss incurred due to the fire is around Rs 40 lac.
