Udupi: Floating bridge ready again in Malpe beach to thrill, excite people

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Dec 18: Right now tourism is on an upward trend in the city. Lacs of people are visiting Malpe beach. Students and tourists from outstation states are also thronging the beach.

Now the floating bridge is ready to thrill and excite people at the Malpe beach. Last year three entrepreneurs Sudesh, Dhananjaya and Shekhar built a floating bridge costing Rs 80 lac from Thailand. The inauguration was also held in a grand manner. All local administration officers and MLA Raghupati Bhat took part in the inauguration and enjoyed the floating bridge. MLA Raghupati Bhat had fallen off after losing his balance on the bridge. However, the bridge got washed away into the sea within the next two days due to Asani cyclone. People were shocked to see the state of the bridge after the cyclone. It hit the national headlines as well.

Now the new floating bridge - 150 feet in length - is ready with new safety features. Now three entrepreneurs have got the floating bridge built for Rs 80 lac by Marine company of Mumbai. The personnel of the company themselves have built the floating bridge on the beach and tested it for three months.

The blocks of the new floating bridge withstood the Mandaus cyclone also and did not get damaged or dismantled. This bridge is stronger due to its much stronger joints. Except  Kerala, Malpe is the only beach that has floating bridge now.

District administration has also taken safety measures to prevent tourists from falling into the sea or facing any such danger.

Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the bridge operator or staff, wear appropriate clothing and footwear, use caution when moving around the bridge, stay aware of your surroundings and the weather conditions, avoid horseplay or reckless behavior, and listen to the bridge operator or staff if they give any instructions or alerts. By following these safety measures, you can help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the floating bridge
