Mangaluru Dec 19: An elderly lady was injured after she fell into a gutter near Jyothi's Ambedkar Circle on Monday, December 19 morning.

The gutter was opened for cabling purposes more than a month ago near Jyothi Laxmidas Jewellery and the authorities have not bothered to close it. The local public helped the woman out of the gutter.
Even the vehicles are parked on the roadsides in that area due to which the pedestrians are having a tough time walking on the footpath which is dug deep.
The locals who helped the elderly said, "A husband and wife were walking towards Jyothi when they saw an elderly woman falling into a 7-feet pit. They alerted te people around. We were able to rescue her but she suffered a few injuries due to the incident. She fell upside down but fortunately she did not twist her neck.
Locals also showed their anger towards smart city issues.
