Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Dec 21: “Some villagers have occupied the road constructed by the gram panchayat for public use and damaged it by creating trenches on it,” alleged Amasebail resident Dinaker Shetty Belmane.

Speaking in a news conference held today he said that the gram panchayat had constructed a mud road from Bail till Palu. “But the residents of Belmane, Avinash Hegde, B K Sathish Hegde, Ashok Kumar Shetty and Prasanna Shetty together have damaged the road, digging it with Hitachi and JCB and creating trenches on it.”

“The district panchayat has released Rs 5 lacs for construction of the road under 14th finance commission for the year 2021-2022 but there is no land to construct the road. The people residing in the vicinity are using a wild left government road which is also about to be closed. Besides that they have grabbed 60 acres of government land. There has been no response from the deputy commissioner, additional deputy commissioner, CEO, tahsildar, revenue officer, village accountant, PDO and other officers to the requests made by us. We have been living here for the last 45 years. Construct a road for us and provide justice,” he pleaded the deputy commissioner in front of the media.

Narayana Shetty Belmane and Ravikar Shetty Belmane were present in the news conference.
