Beltangady: Horse dies after bus hits it, rider escapes with injures

Beltangady, Dec 26: A horse was killed as KSRTC bus hit it head-on. The rider was thrown to the road but escaped with minor injuries. The tragic incident occurred at Pedamale of the taluk on Sunday December 25.

Entrepreneur Piligoodu Monu was the owner of the horse. Monu’s son took the horse for a ride in the morning on Guruvayanakere-Uppinangady state highway. Monu’s son met arecanut dealer Sachin who is his friend. Sachin asked Monu’s son that he wants to ride the horse and mounted on it. As the horse was galloping on the road, a KSRTC bus that was arriving to Uppinangady hit it on the head at the Pedamale bend. The horse which collapsed due to the impact writhed in pain for some time and died.

Monu’s son was wailing looking at the dying horse, which breathed his last on his lap. The scene made all onlookers teary eyed. Sachin suffered a fracture and was admitted to private hospital in Mangaluru.

    Its sad horse died .Here horses owner should have gone with when not experienced person was riding it.Specially one has to ride horses not on National highways but inside country side.Second when one sees Horse is on the way vehicle driver should never honk and drive fast.Horse gets afraid and start to run out of its normal milage .when once passed the animal then can drive as you want ,keeping in mind the animal.Now who will pay compansation to the Horse ?Horses get very soon heart attack when afraid.
