PM Narendra Modi's mother Hiraben dies at the age of 100

New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Hiraben Modi passed away at the age of 100 early on Friday morning.

She was admitted to Ahmedabad's UN Mehta Hospital after her health deteriorated.

UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre said in a statement, "Hiraba Modi passed away on December 30 at 3.30 a.m. (early morning) during the treatment at UN Mehta Heart hospital."

Modi wrote with a heavy heart, "A glorious century rests at the feet of God. In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values on his official twitter account.

The Prime Minister met his mother Hiraben last time at a super-speciality hospital in Ahmedabad where she had been admitted on Wednesday.

At least today Guys , hold your horses! Irrespective of any party affiliation , we have to condole the demise of someones mother. What if we have someone passing away in our family and someone pokes fun or pass malicious comments. Though I am against BJP, I personally feel, its not right!

Read news of a 6th standard student of Kolya who lost his life due to fever and headache on daiji. Felt very sad. No single soul from here commented on that young soul lost. Look at the photo of that sweet child. Your heart will cry. Here you pour your heart with enthusiasm just because it is Modis mother. What a shame. Look at yourself on the mirror.

Sameer Sahab, Unfortunately we people in India do not value human lives and even though we value some, it depends on who is who based religion, affiliation, caste and of course the amount of wealth & power one possesses.

You can call every woman as a mother, but men can’t be called as a Baap. Whoever he /she might be an character of animal or worse , good or better human but all have Mother. So one mother lost . But honest son never use her for cheap publicity.

RIP Hiraben. Condolences to the PM, members of the family and everyone who’s grieving her passing. Few years ago I saw a picture of PM Modi sitting at her feet, in a American’s home. She was a symbol of Indian mothers in foreign countries too.

Those who celebrate New Year, stop celebrating all feasts, marriages for one whole year upon a family member's death. Do you also follow this ? If not, then do your mourning, don't be distracted by New years celebration.

though I dont celebrate the death of anyone...let me remind you that mitai laddus were distributed in 1984 october end when Mrs Indira Gandhi our former prime minister and the greatest leader of our country was shot dead....the sweets were distributed openly at Mannagudda, Car street etc..I was a eye witness to these things....so the vengence of Nagpur is far far greater than that of other people..after writing this,....i stilll dont appreciate anyone celebrating the death of anyone else...as alll of us have to leave this world one or the other day...

Indiraji was a great leader. She was and is the only person who could split Pakistan into two. She laid down her life for the country. She took many hard decisions. One should not have distributed sweets when she passed away. This only shows the sick mentality of some people which should be condemned in the strongest possible words. Such perverts should be boycotted by one and all.

Maa Tujhe Salaam.Heera means diamond, truly a gem. Many here will know about Modi's brothers Soma,Amrut,Prahlad and Pankaj.Few will know he has a sister Vasantiben. Very few will know he has a "brother" named Abbas (now on Australia). People should stop criticizing him on religious grounds. Heeraba was treated at U N Mehta hospital, late Shri U N Mehta was a simple person and a great soul, he used to come as a Medical Representative at our clinic, later on he became the owner of Torrent group of companies. His sons now manage Torrent Pharma and Torrent Power. Also I will not forget Dr.R. K. Patel who treated Heeraba. He was a brilliant student(few years senior to me), and a very good and practical doctor.

This is the story of every ones life. No one can runaway from this reality. Modiji ab dua denewali maa chali gayi. Jiske maa aur baap nahi hote woh yateem hote hain. Ab sudhar jao aur jago time khareeb hai. Kuch accha socho. Duniya mein har insaan ek hota hai. Aap soch rahe ho sirf Gujrati aur hindu hi insaan hai. Please ab kuch accha socho aur pani party walon ko bhi samjhao.
