Hot Day Ahead for Delhi


New Delhi, May 29 (IANS) It was a hot morning for Delhiites Sunday, with the minimum temperature two notches above average at 28.8 degrees Celsius. The mercury is likely to cross the 40 degrees mark later in the day, the weather office said.

"Skies will remain clear during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to settle at 42 degrees Celsius," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 58 percent.

Delhi Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 26.3 degrees, both a notch below average for this time of the season.
