Beltangady, Jan 18: Town police arrested absconding main accused Sudhir (25), who impregnated and forced into abortion his neighbour girl, who used to come to his house to watch TV.
Parvati (60), mother of main accused Sudhir, Manohar (23) and Madhu (55) were already arrested in this case based on the complaint given by children welfare committee.
Sudhir went underground as the case was filed in Beltangady police station on January 2. Police were on a manhunt to apprehend him. Billawa organizations also pressurized police to arrest the accused. The police team led by circle inspector Shivakumar got information that Sudhir is doing odd jobs in and around Chikkamagaluru and arrested him on January 17.
The victim school girl used to go to Sudhir’s house during holidays and Sundays to watch TV. Sudhir took the girl to his grandmother’s house, which is nearby and sexually assaulted her on December 26. As he came to know that the girl got pregnant, he took help of his mother Parvati and relatives Madhu and Manohar and got her aborted.
Sudhir’s mother lied in the hospital saying that she is the mother of the victim girl. Circle inspector Shivakumar said that POCSO section is applied on all the accused and investigation is continuing.
