Jennifer Lopez to Host Latin American Talent Search


Los Angeles, June 2 (IANS/EFE) Pop star Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony will undertake a tour of Latin American countries in search of undiscovered musical talent.

The couple would hold auditions for the television series "¡Q'Viva! The Chosen" to be aired next month.

"Very soon, the world's heart will beat to the tune of Latin rhythms and we're looking forward to experiencing history in the making," the couple said in a statement.

The show's producer - XIX Entertainment - also produces "American Idol".

Singers, dancers and musicians have been invited to submit audition videos via YouTube.

The public can also nominate contestants on the programme's Facebook page.

"It is with great pride that we embark on this amazing and very personal mission to discover and celebrate the most captivating talent the world has ever seen," Lopez and Anthony said.

The couple will visit small towns in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Paraguay, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Aruba as well as the US.

"¡Q'Viva! The Chosen" will be broadcast in English, Spanish and Portuguese and would be aired simultaneously in all the 21 countries.
