Karkala: Alumni Assn of St Joseph’s School, Belman Distributes Notebooks to 400 Students

Karkala, Jun 2: The alumni association of St Joseph’s Aided Higher Primary School, Belman organized free notebook distribution programme for students of both St Joseph’s Primary and High School here on Wednesday June 1.

Belman parish priest Fr Ronald Pinto inaugurated the school re-opening function.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Ronald Pinto commended the humanitarian deed of alumni association in providing notebooks to students of both primary and high school.

The alumni association president and Karkala taluk panchayat member Xavier D’Mello said that the association has extended its support for the cause all these years. The school that has history of over a century imparts free education to students at par with English medium schools.

Education department Nandalike cluster director Vasant M said that St Joseph’s School has been one among the top schools in the Karkala block, while its students have excelled in studies every year and well patronized by the general public.

Belman parish council vice-president Gregory Menezes, Belman gram panchayat member Geetha Prabhu, Prabhakar Shetty convent superior Sr Gracy, alumni asocial office-bearers Jacintha D’Souza, Sylvester D’Mello, Ida Fernandes, Urban D’Souza and secretary Janet D’Mello were present.

Fr Ronald Pinto and Gregory Menezes felicitated public education department Karkala block Nandalike – Mundkoor cluster director Vasant M on the occasion.

The school head teacher Sr Monica welcomed the gathering.  The teacher Pundalika Marate proposed the vote of thanks. Senior teacher Sewrine Mendonca compered the programme.

The notebooks worth Rs 1.1 lac was distributed to 400 students at the programme.
