Srinivas University holds guest lecture on 'Enhancing the Cognitive Functions with Practice of Yoga'

Mangaluru, Jan 20: With the blessings of A Shama Rao Foundation, chancellor Dr CA A Ragahvendra Rao and pro chancellor Dr A Srinivasa Rao, department of clinical psychology, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University organised a guest lecture on 'Enhancing the Cognitive Functions with Practice of Yoga' January 19.

The programme was held at 3rd floor, engineering block, Mukka.

Disha Rag, psychologist, and Yoga therapist was the guest speaker. The programme commenced with the presence of the in-charge dean’s of Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Dr Beena H B and prof Pavana Krishnamoorthy. The master of ceremony was Aysha Reeha and Sahiba Kamandalam, welcome speech by Lavanya and vote of thanks by Guhan, by the UG and PG students of the department of clinical psychology.

The session was much interactive and the aspects of yoga and psychology and the benefits of practicing yoga to stimulate the cognitive functions of the brain was highlighted by the speaker.

The speaker also taught few techniques such as pranayama, mudras to the students to increase the cognitive ability.

The event was organised and conducted by the guidance of Priyadhersini S, course coordinator, and supported by the faculties Akshatha, Asha N, Harshitha, and Nisha from the department of clinical psychology.
