Mangaluru: Online awareness on Pharmacovigilance to be held at FMHMC on Jan 21

Mangaluru, Jan 21: Ministry of AYUSH has initiated a Pharmacovigilance cell for Ayush system of medicines. The aim of this cell is to collect data regarding Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) related with ASU&H medicines and to create a central database.

Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC), Deralakatte, Mangaluru being selected as one of the peripheral centres of the pharmacovigilance cell, is organising an online awareness programme on Pharmacovigilance for the homeopathic doctors, researchers and students, on Saturday January 21 at 1.30 pm via Zoom.

Topic & Speakers:

1. Introduction to Pharmacovigilance in Homoeopathy - Dr Swapan Paul, co-ordinator, Intermediary Pharmacovigilance Centre, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata

2. Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) & Adverse Drug Events (ADE) from Homoeopathic Perspective - Dr Shashi Kant Tiwari, former director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata

3. Causality Assessment and Reporting - Dr Vivek Sakthidharan, co-ordinator, Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Mangalore

4. Drugs & Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act 1954 & its importance in Pharmacovigilance - Dr Jeeno Jose, assistant professor, Department Of Homoeopathic Pharmacy, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Mangalore

E-certificate will be issued to the participants. There are no registration fees.
