Mangaluru, Jan 21: “Mangaluru north legislative constituency MLA Dr Bharath Shetty has openly threatened that he will not spare Congress workers if they are involved in love jihad activities. Does this mean that Congress leaders and thousands of Hindu and Christian party workers get involved in love jihad?” questioned Mohiuddin Bawa, former MLA of Mangaluru north legislative constituency.

Bawa further said, “Congress party need not accumulate people by giving free petrol to the attendees. Dr Bharath Shetty has given this statement as he is scared of losing the next assembly election.

“I have given Rs 25,000 on humanitarian basis in the case where a house was burnt at Surathkal. I have also given Rs one lac each to the family of Aatish, who died trying to avoid a pothole on the road, family of Jaleel, who was brutally murdered and Purushottam Poojary, the auto driver who was injured in the cooker bomb blast.

“The honourable MLA only goes to these families to click photographs and publicity. Is he not ashamed? He should seek public apology for this cheap statement against Congress workers,” he said.

Surathkal block Congress president Umesh Dandakeri, Gurupur block Congress president Surendra Kambali, Mallikarujun and others were present in the press conference.
