Mangaluru: Confraternity Sunday celebrated at Valencia Church

Mangaluru, Jan 22: As preparation for the annual parish feast of Valencia Church, the Confraternity Sunday (Compricho Aithar) was celebrated on Sunday, January 22 .

All the parishioners got together in huge numbers on this blessed day. The Eucharistic celebration began at 4 pm and Fr Clifford Fernandes, the parish priest of Holy Cross Church Cordel Kulshekar was the main celebrant.The co-celebrants were Fr Roque D'Sa , Fr Vijay Monterio, Fr Paul D'Souza and Fr William Barracas.

After the mass, the Holy Eucharist adorned in a golden coloured monstrance and mounted on a decorated vehicle was taken in procession from Valencia church to St Gerosa School, Jeppu. The brass band played devotional hymns which uplifted the beauty of the procession. The special attraction of the procession was the use of eco-friendly placards in the procession in order to promote a plastic free environment.

After the procession , the parishioners assembled at St Gerosa School to participate in the Benediction that was again led by Fr Clifford Fernandes .

The entire proceeding of the Confraternity Sunday displayed the immense faith of the parishioners.
